9 Mistakes Not To Make When Decorating Your Bedroom

Have you ever felt sleepy and were unable to resist the feeling? Did it ever happen to you that you can hardly stop your eyes from shutting, but still cannot sleep properly? What were the reasons according to you? Was it too dark or was it too noisy in your bedroom? The fact that you cannot sleep means something might be wrong. Having insomnia is a very unhealthy sign and you need to look for ways to tackle the problem.

1)    Colors: You should select the right colors for all you stuff, starting from accessories, to the main furniture, and right up to the walls and floor. Have you felt that a certain room is pleasantly decorated but still you do not feel like staying there? Therefore, be careful while choosing the colors. Avoiding the darker shades is necessary. Feng-Shui recommends you to use pink – the feminine color for bedrooms. You can paint one wall in different color than the rest three to bring variety. You can use blue and if possible, avoid red.

2)    TV or Computer:  The bedroom is a place, where you unite with your spouse. Then what are things like the TV and computer doing there? After a day’s hard work, you will be out o your mind to sit before the idiot box and distress yourself. However, at the same time, your spouse too would be longing to talk to you. Let that idiot box remain so, and you can get wiser and switch it off.

3)    Pictures of dear ones: What message will the picture be giving others, if it is ages old, especially pictures of yourself or any family member? In some years’ time, you may have completely changed your personality. It would be who you did not want to be. Bedroom is not the ideal place to hang pictures.

4)     Undesirable Pictures: Considering that you are married, do not put a picture of lonely man or women in your bedroom. That would be enough to start a stir.

5)    Avoid the Desk: As mentioned above, bedroom is a place to connect with your partner. Therefore, things like TV, computer or desks have no place here. It is necessary to seclude yourself from this. If you do not have any other place for the desk, keep it away and off during bedtime.

6)    Bedroom is not the place for a bicycle. You should keep the bicycle in the garage only.

7)    No Mirrors: Many people have advocated not putting mirrors in bedroom. According to Feng-Shui, you lose energy this way and lose your sleep. Where will you sleep, if you are losing your sleep in the bedroom? In order to avoid this problem, you should not put mirrors in the bathroom.

8)    Get Neat: A bedroom should not be an untidy place. If you are having problems in moving across the bedroom, organize it in proper way. Your bedroom should not look like a cocktail of things.

Avoid Lop-sidedness: If you are sharing your room with your partner, you should know how to avoid imbalance. Having a set of two will be more worthwhile. That would also be pleasing to the eyes.
