Mistakes To Avoid When Decorating Your Bedroom

Sometimes it is very hard to fall asleep even though you are sleeping in your own personal bedroom. Many people wonder why this happens and even result to medical remedies. However, the decoration you have chosen for your bedroom may be hindering your energy. It could be too dark, too light, too messy or too noisy. To help you view your bedroom in an objective way and understand the mistakes you have made there are certain factors you should consider. If you observe them carefully, you will be able to prevent any more mistakes.

The first major factor is the color you use in your bedroom. You should consider all aspects of the bedroom such as walls, furniture, floor and any decorative accessories. It is possible to have a well-decorated bedroom but an atmosphere that is not relaxing in any way. The wall color is the most important as it is the most noticeable. It is advisable to avoid dark colors altogether. For instance if you choose grey go for the lighter shades of grey. Some experts recommend the use of pink in the bedroom however; this color is mainly associated with feminism and therefore may not apply in all cases. You can also mix different colors. The usual style involves painting one wall in the room a different color from the other three.

Although it feels to watch TV in the warmth of your bed, its not advisable have a TV or computer in the bedroom. Apart from producing harmful waves to the human body, the TV can also severe communication with your partner. Placing these gadgets in the bedroom will also deny the other family members a chance to use them. Other items you should avoid placing in the bedroom include old pictures of your partner, your kids and your own pictures.  Hanging pictures older than ten years will only serve to bring back old memories from the past.

If you share your bedroom with a partner, you should avoid hanging pictures of a lone man or woman as it may be an invitation to go elsewhere. If you own a bicycle, do not keep it in the bedroom as this signifies your relationship is standing still. In case of a desk, you can keep it in the bedroom but make sure there is a separate space for it. You can use a curtain or draught-screen to separate this area from your sleeping area. Finally, you should resist from hanging mirrors in your bedroom, as this will cause you to loose energy resulting in poor sleep.

One of the worst mistakes people make is sleeping in a cluttered bedroom. Too many books on the bedside table or too many clothes on the bedroom chair will make the room cluttered. Clutter spoils your energy resulting in bad sleeping patterns therefore its good to tidy up the bedroom. Another point to consider is avoiding asymmetry in the bedroom. This is especially the case if you are living with someone or you want to meet someone. Symmetry will be brought about by having two of a kind for most of your bedroom accessories. You can have two bedside lamps and an even number for the cushions.
